We love questions! Below are some of the common questions about Awesome Climbs. If you need more answers, call us or send us an email. We'd love to talk to you!
WHY KILIMANJARO?
|
Our first, and probably most convincing reason is – because who wants to sit in a classroom, a coffee shop or in an office when you can be on a mountain? True life lessons require you to engage. Kilimanjaro is uniquely suited for these lessons. Its five climates and unpredictable environment will mirror the challenges you've faced. But in a positive way!
Haven't you walked through the rainforest? Wishing for vision and long-range view but with your sight so limited that you can only see what's right in front of you? Haven't you experienced the barren landscape of not knowing what's next and faced your only option - just keep moving? Haven't you encountered walls so massive and frightening they seem impossible to climb? Of course you have. And this time, instead of the hard choosing you, you will choose the hard. And you will conquer it. |
What's it Cost?
|
The program fee is $5200 per person and includes all development and climbing fees, as well as lodging, most meals and all communal equipment. Limited slots available!
Teams and Organizations can come too and may receive a group rate. |
CAN I DO IT?
|
It’s understandable to be apprehensive about such a big challenge. Your safety is of utmost importance. Chances are, if you have a moderate amount of fitness – and prepare properly – you can take Kilimanjaro on! There are no special climbing skills you need since Kili is a “trekking mountain.” We can help you prepare with our 20-week training program. Strap on those boots!

WHAT'S THE DAILY SCHEDULE LIKE?
|
Each day begins with "bed tea". Your porter will wake you in the morning and provide you with hot tea or coffee. After packing up your personal items, we will head to the dining tent for a hot breakfast and daily orientation. At breakfast we will discuss the learnings of the day and what the mountain has in store. After breakfast, we will hit the trail. No worries, your awesome porters will pack up camp (and pass you soon on the trail!). Our daily climb schedule varies. However, at regular intervals throughout the morning we will break and rest – this is your time to take in the sights, chat with fellow climbers and gain significant insights. Once we reach camp we will rest and relax prior to dinner. At dinner we will have an opportunity for another growth lesson. After the nightly health check, you will retire to your tent and get ready for the following day!

Kilimanjaro is not easy. Make no mistake, you are doing something very few people will ever attempt. At the same time, we have every confidence with the correct preparation, the summit of Africa's highest peak is possible.
The challenges of an Awesome Climb are not just physical. We will also challenge your mindset, your comfort and your view of the world. We want you to confront what's holding you back. Will that be easy? Not always. But when is significant growth ever easy? At the same time, we are confident despite all the challenges, this just may be the best experience of your life. The view from the top is awesome. The new view of yourself, may just be even better. |
